Da biggest baddest Waaagh!

So, I’ve known Warhammer Age of Reckoning was slated to be released from a long time ago, and since the beginning I was very enthusiastic about it, unfortunately things happened, and I forgot about it for a period of time. Recently (and ironically, right before almost making the decision to head back into WoW due to a complete lack of anything to do) my best friend, told me to view the new Warhammer trailer. So I did. And I do not regret it one bit. I was always a fan of Warhammer games, previously mostly only the 40k stuff. But I’ve gotten very deeply into the Lore (High Elven mostly, since High Elven classes will be my primary mainstays upon entry into the game) and found one particular class, the Swordmaster, to be quite interesting since it could revive my rather dead Blood Elf Paladin character, with how he was actually intended to be in the first place, but could not be due to WoW’s issues (including but not limited to terrible RPers, and the unbelievable amount of queerness among Blood Elves, lack of interesting or even coherent lore, and plenty of other just generally crappy things.)

I’ve done much research into the High Elves and as a fan of both Nordic and Chinese cultures, I rather appreciate the crossing of the two into one. Especially the “Sword Dancing” that the High Elven Swordmasters perform, which is basically a Chinese art form (most would know this as Jedi Light Saber fighting though.) There are plenty of other aspects in terms of influences that I enjoy in the High Elf race (although the entire game has some amazing influences from real life, notably the Holy Roman Empire in the form of…surprise, the Empire) But I’ll delve into those in a subsequent post. So if you’re into MMORPGs, I don’t think that Mythic would fail to deliver, nor anything from the Warhammer world. Here are both the new and old trailers, in that order, for your viewing pleasure.

My inspiration in life.

I’ve recently started keeping an actual journal, and for some reason it’s more therapeutic than just typing out my feelings here, but I guess that’s because of how tiring writing can be. Anyway, the recent Beijing Olympics have been a blast to watch, as usual. There were the occasional bumps in the road of course, but whatever. One Olympian in particular has driven me to push myself to the absolute edge, physically and mentally. Shawn Johnson. For those of you unfamiliar with her (which you shouldn’t be unless you live under a rock.) She is a beautiful, very beautiful (in my opinion) and extremely talented girl. And since seeing her on the Olympics, I haven’t been able to get her out of my head. I’m not a newbie to working out and weightlifting, its just that I often stop for long periods of time. But that was because I had no inspiration.

It’s sort of silly to have a celebrity crush like this or whatever, seeing as I’ll never be able to even lay eyes on her in my lifetime…but it’s not the first time I’ve fallen in love with an impossibility. It seems to be working too, in terms of inspiration for my workouts. Every time I push the weights up I think of her and it just drives me. And no, not just because I think she’s pretty, but because of what she does in the Olympics. She’s absolutely amazing and she’s become my new life inspiration in nearly all of my endeavors. If there was anyway I could ever tell her that in person, I think I’d break down crying. She just…melts my heart. Well, Go team USA! I’m done for now.
