OMFG!!1!1!! FUCKKKKKKKK

I WAS JUST READING AN ARTICLE ON E-ONLINE AND GUESS FUCKING WHAT? MY DREAM IS COMING TRUE. A NEW ROBOCOP IS SLATED FOR 2010. And as you might, or might not know, I’m like the BIGGEST fucking Robocop fanboy ever. Here’s the info from the article.

“Keeping up the rerun theme, MGM has hired director Darren Aronofsky to pull a Christopher Nolan and reboot the dormant Robocop franchise.
Aronofsky is teaming with writer David Self (Road to Perdition) to come up with a new story about the cyborg police officer set for 2010. The original 1987 feature, directed by Paul Verhoeven, spawned two sequels as well as a short-lived TV series and video games.”

IS IT JUST ME OR DOES CHRISTIAN BALE SERIOUSLY NEED TO PLAY ROBOCOP?!?!? CHRISTIAN BALE! CHRISTIAN BALE! CHRISTIAN BALE! HE’S FUCKING PERFECT FOR THIS ROLE.

Jesus Christ, this is making me all tingly, and my hair is standing on end. I couldn’t help myself so I had to read all the news to the Robocop Theme song and it’s making me want to fucking jump up and down crazily. I’m gunna have a heart attack. But seriously. Christian Bale would be the ideal Robocop. He has experience under a suit that only shows his awesome lips, he’s slim, and he looks like Murphy from the original Robocop. End of debate.

Some TV shows I’ve been watching (and the FBI).

So due to having completely nothing to do at all, and the weather being overtly muggy and sweltering, I’ve been lounging around, watching some TV shows on my computer, mostly on the fantastic website “www.hulu.com

Now, moving on, I’ve been watching Standoff mostly and, you know, I blogged about this show back when it first aired and it is entirely depressing to watch it over because that show was one of the best shows to ever hit the air and Fox cancelled it. I can’t believe anyone could cancel it, it had so much going for it. Recently, however a show called Flashpoint aired on CBS so, after seeing the trailer and missing the premier I decided to check it out on the CBS website since it looked so similar to Standoff. My mistake entirely, the show reeks of mediocre production. The cast is an ensemble of generic, lookalike and really bland Canadian actors.

One looks like Bruce Willis, another Jennifer Garner, and the rest look like people you may see on your everyday trip to the supermarket, just with 100% more makeup. But whatever, maybe they were going for realism, but it didn’t entirely strike me as too impressive since their personalities are just as horribly blank. On a good show like Standoff, you get involved, and you start to care for the characters. On Flashpoint, I take one look at them and I say, “Now why the hell should I care if you die in the next split instant? What do you have to offer my viewing experience?” Is it such a horrible show that I couldn’t watch it without enjoying it? No, I wouldn’t say that, it’s all good fun, but it’s more like a Grade B movie compared to the likes of what Standoff was.

But not every show can be Standoff so whatever, if this show Flashpoint continues, I’ll keep watching it, but it’s not likely to make it to another week most likely. I can’t imagine the show having attracted any amount of viewers since not only does it feature such an unpopular topic such as para-military organizations (apparently hospital drama is the number one topic nowadays), but it’s also set in Toronto with a bunch of no name actors. Mesh those two things together and you have a recipe for a premature death to the series. Unless of course, CBS is pouring it’s money into it entirely which I doubt since they have all of those CSI series to continue. But watching Standoff made me realize something completely different from just how badly put together Flashpoint was. It made me re-evaluate my career options. Being an FBI agent has always sort of been out of the picture to me, I never really thought of it. Well, I did, but only in the furthest reaches of my imagination.

So after taking the liberty of visiting their website and checking their Employment Requirements, being a Special Agent in the FBI, is suddenly a very viable option, after college, and maybe a few years in local police service. I think being an FBI agent would make all those close to me, especially my father, very proud. Or, at least more proud of me. Being a police officer is nothing to be frowned upon, and he certainly values that fact. Now, I’m not committing myself. I may decide to take a different career path and remain a local detective here, it’s all in how things turn out for me. In fact, I may even choose to take up an internship at the FBI, and who knows what may happen, I may not even have to serve locally. But for me, that’s not the best option (at least for my personal reasons). I feel that I should serve my community before moving onto my own career advancement goals, you know…give back a little.

Certainly would be nice to have a partner as hot as Rosemarie DeWitt’s character on Standoff. She is one exceptionally beautiful woman. I don’t know, call me crazy, there’s just something about her. Well that ends today’s rant. Till next time.
